The Shadow of Fear is a Shen Gong Wu.
Characteristics[]
The Shadow of Fear is an eagle shaped Shen Gong Wu that is shiny and had feather designs. It has red eyes and is grasped on to a platform with its talons.
Abilities[]
- Efiáltiskinesis - When activated, it allows the user to go into other people's dreams and bring to life their deepest, darkest fears. It also allowed the user to create nightmares while in the dreams of others.
- Sapphire Being Manifestation - When combined with the Sapphire Dragon and Moby Morpher, it can create sapphire manifestations of a person's fears. It only works if the person is asleep.
History[]
It was first retrieved by Jack Spicer, who then proceeded to sneak into the Xiaolin Temple at night, enter each of the monks' dreams and find out their fears, leading them not to get very much sleep. When the group went to Jack's lair to take back their Shen Gong Wu (which he also stole whilst they were asleep), Jack used the Shadow of Fear to give their worst fears form. Kimiko Tohomiko's worst fear was a half-melted talking doll named "Tamochika", Clay Bailey's worst fear was his Granny Lily, Raimundo Pedrosa's worst fear was revealed to be some sort of jellyfish monster, and Omi's worst fear was a squirrel. The monks failed to take back their Shen Gong Wu.
As the Crouching Cougar was revealed, Jack used the Shadow again on the dragons, however they "swapped fears" and fought one another's worst fears instead of their own. Before Jack had a chance to get the Crouching Cougar, all the monks and their fears triggered an Eight-Way Xiaolin Showdown. The monks ended up winning all of the Shen Gong Wu wagered, and as the group were flying away, Omi reveals that he had taken the Shadow of Fear when no one was looking, and they all decided to look at Jack's worst fear: getting flushed down the toilet.
Its only other use was when Hannibal Roy Bean used it to enter Raimundo's dreams and discover his worst fear. By using the Sapphire Dragon and Moby Morpher, he turned the Sapphire Dragon into a hybrid of Raimundo's fear and itself, making it virtually unstoppable, but only appeared if Raimundo was asleep. By disguising himself as Kimiko while the others searched for the Shadow Slicer, Hannibal let Raimundo fall asleep and entered his dreams again, unleashing the creature where both the monks and Jack Spicer were. Hannibal proceeded to haunt Raimundo's dreams "Freddy Krueger style" using the Shadow of Fear, but Raimundo (along with his inner self) managed to overcome his fear and defeat both Hannibal and the Sapphire Dragon simultaneously.
