"Omi Town" is the forty-third episode of Xiaolin Showdown. It was written by Mark Zaslove and directed by Jeff Allen. It was originally aired on Kids WB on October 8, 2005.

Overview[]

It is Chinese New Year, and everyone except Omi receives gifts from their families. In an effort to cheer him up, Master Fung suggests Omi go on a quest to find where he belongs. The Warriors travel to a town where everyone looks exactly like the young monk. There, Omi finally finds his 'parents', though they are not exactly what he expected. Much to his fellow Warriors' dismay, Omi decides to stay with them on their run-down farm. Now with one less warrior at the Xiaolin Temple, Wuya, Hannibal Bean and Jack plot to break into the Temple to steal Shen Gong Wu, however, they do not know that they are being closely watched.

Synopsis[]

It is Chinese New Year, and all the monks get presents from their family members except Omi. Master Fung sends Omi, Kimiko Tohomiko, Raimundo Pedrosa, and Clay Bailey on a quest to find his parents.

Noticing various signs that lead them to a place called 'Omi Town' with a lot of Omi look-alikes. Omi, Raimundo, Kimiko and Clay spilt up to find Omi's parents. Raimundo finds Omi's parents who have been poor farmers all their lives. Raimundo tells Kimiko and Clay "Yeah, but I'm not sure, they're exactly what Omi's expecting".

Omi also finds out his last name is 'Crud'. Clay says "I think he spoke too soon, pardner." Omi tells his parents "we could not have always been farmers" and "I bet you have colorful past: fought many brave battles". Omi's dad says "Huh. The only brave battles I can recall were fighting with your mother!" and "We go at it like cats and dogs". "Usually, over doing chores or a bowl of rice". Kimiko asks "And, you're certain that Omi is your son?" and says "I mean, Omi is not the only one in town with a big yellow head". Omi's mom shows Omi's baby photos to Raimundo, Kimiko and Clay. Raimundo says "no doubt about it, Omi's their boy". Omi's mom lifts her son up and give him a hug. Omi's mom says "we're just so tickled to have our little Omi back" and "oh, we missed him so". Omi's dad says "we never knew what happened to him all those years ago". Omi got lost because they had mistaken him as grapefruit and sold him, along with other grapefruits which shocked Raimundo, Kimiko, Clay and Dojo. Omi's dad says "Anyway, I'd better get back to the chores, still got to plow the bed for you". Omi's dad continues his hacking coughs. Omi says "no, father, allow me". Omi starts to plow the bed while Raimundo, Kimiko, Clay and Dojo see. Omi's dad says "oh, now there's a good son". Omi uses his Xiaolin Martial art moves to plow the entire fields, build a fence, put eggs inside a basket and other chores until he is exhausted. An exhausted Omi walks back to his parents. Omi's mom says "Omi, you must be tired" and "I made up your old room for you, just like it always was". Omi lifts his head from the soil and says "my old room". Omi says "But, I have a room back at the temple". Omi's mom says "No, you'll be staying here with us from now on". Raimundo, Kimiko, Clay and Dojo gasp then the four of them turn their heads toward each other. Omi's mom says "Looking after the farm will be a full time job". Omi is shocked while he asks "You--You want me to leave the temple?" Omi's dad says "We just want you to be happy" as he continues his hacking cough then he says "you don't have to care for your parents if you don't want to". Omi's dad continues to hacking cough then Omi's mom pats her husband's back. Omi's mom says "I'm sure, we'll find some way to get by or not." Omi sees his parents and says "No, I will stay" while Raimundo, Kimiko and Clay gasp again. Omi says "You are my mother and father" and "It is my duty" then Omi is feeling down. Clay walks to Omi and tells him "Think what you're saying, buckaroo". Raimundo walks to Omi and tells him "You can't stay." "You're a Xiaolin monk". Omi says "No, I am a Crud first." Kimiko walks to Omi and says "But Omi, until a few hours ago, you were just a grapefruit to them." Omi walks away from Raimundo, Kimiko and Clay. Omi says "These are my parents." "It is the only honorable thing to do." Omi sees Kimiko, Raimundo and Clay on Dojo.

Dojo asks Omi "Are you sure about this?" Omi says "Yes, this is goodbye" as he stops seeing his friends. Kimiko says "Not goodbye." and "We'll come back and visit" as Raimundo smiles. Then Kimiko says "And, you'll visit us" then she, Raimundo and Clay are feeling down. Dojo starts to fly away with Kimiko, Raimundo and Clay on his back. Omi sadly says "Goodbye, my frlends" while he sees Kimiko, Raimundo and Clay flying away on Dojo's back. Omi's mom says "Supper time, Omi." "We're having your favorite, chicken feet." "Then, right after your dinner dishes." "You can give us a sponge bath" which disgusts Omi. Dojo is flying Kimiko, Raimundo and Clay back to the temple at night. Raimundo says "It's hard to believe the little round dude's gone." and "He made bad slang in art form." Kimiko says "We should be happy for him.", "He wanted to find his family and he did." and "Now, he knows who he is." Clay says "Yeah, a Crud." Jack Spicer and Wuya see Kimiko, Raimundo and Clay flying on Dojo to head back to the temple. Wuya says "Excellent, with Cheddarhead out of the way." Hannibal Roy Bean says "The young warriors will be mortally weakened." Jack says "Which means, we move on the temple." and "Boo-yah!" "Rock and roll!" "Shake it,'til you break it, baby!" Chase's crow sees Jack, Wuya and Hannibal then it flies back to Chase. Omi works all day, and his room is only fit for a chicken, but he was too tired to care then a rooster wakes him up and he screams. The next morning, after having barely slept a wink and wearing overalls and an Asian conical hat, Omi continues to work on the farm. Chase Young says "Good morning, little monk." Omi sees the villain. Chase says "I'm not here to fight you, little monk" "but to warn you" when he shows up at the farm. Omi asks "warn me?" then Chase's crow flies to his shoulder. Chase asks "Do you know where the other monks are?" Omi says "asleep?" while he yawns then Chase puts his hand on Omi's face. Chase says "They're in trouble and will your help." Omi says "I do not believe you." Chase says "Look, into the crow's eyes." The crow zooms in and shows Omi that Jack Spicer, Wuya and Hannibal Roy Bean are planning to raid the temple. Omi asks Chase "Why are you telling me this?" Chase says "Just something I thought you ought to know, in case you wanted to do anything about it." Omi says "you want me to leave my parents and forfeit my honor." "But I will not even they are old, fat and smelly." "They need me and tonight I have to clean their teeth." Omi turns around to see that Chase Young left.

Back at the Xiaolin Temple, Wuya, Jack, and Hannibal arrived and Wuya says "Little do they suspect, it will be like taking a Shen Gong Wu from a baby". Raimundo says "Looks like you just stepped into the wrong crib." Raimundo, Kimiko and Clay are on the roof as they are ready to spring into action. Wuya asks "Light sleepers?" Clay says "Well, you know what they say, the early bird catches the worm, or worms." Jack says "Hey, nice diss." Hannibal Roy Bean jumps off of Wuya's shoulder and says "You're talking to Hannibal Roy Bean" when he appears in front of Raimundo. Then Raimundo says "Oh, yeah, well, listen, Mr. Musical Fruit." "I eat beans for lunch." Hannibal says "Well, eat this" and he uses the Moby Morpher to make himself big. Raimundo says "Wudai Orion Formation" then he, Kimiko and Clay try to use Wudai Orion Formation but their attempt fails as Kimiko falls to the ground which Raimundo and Clay notice. Jack says "I think you're missing round who looks like a cheese snack." Kimiko says "he's right, without Omi, we're sunk" while Raimundo and Clay help her up. Jack then sics his bots on Clay, who slams him into a wall then Jack says "git along, little, doggie. Not! while he laughs" Wuya asks "Think you have enough for me?" Kimiko says "And then some, you old witch!" Kimiko attacks Wuya, but Wuya easily defeats her. Kimiko lands towards Clay after Wuya defeated her. Wuya says "Never insult your elders, especially when they can kick your butt." Raimundo says "it's just you and me, bean dude." Raimundo charges at Hannibal Roy Bean but the latter jumps up before the former punches the latter. Then Raimundo's back hurts while Hannibal Roy Bean says "Poor Raimundo, always one step behind even with his fellow monks." Hannibal tosses Raimundo to Kimiko and Clay while Jack gets a large chunk of Shen Gong Wu and laughs evilly. Omi asks "need any help from a cowpoke?" when he arrives back at the temple as Raimundo opens his eyes. Jack says "Hey, you're not supposed to be here!" Omi says "Well, what comes in circles, goes the other way in circles" as Raimundo, Kimiko, Clay, Jack, Wuya and Hannibal stare at Omi. Wuya says "Somebody translate, I'll be up all night" to Raimundo, Kimiko, Clay, Jack and Hannibal. Then Clay says "I'm guessing, what goes around comes around." Wuya says "Oh please. That wasn't even close." Omi, Raimundo, Kimiko and Clay use Wudai Orion Formation to fight Jack Spicer, Wuya and Hannibal Roy Bean. Then Omi rushes to the pile of Shen Gong Wu while his mother grabs the Shen Gong Wu at the same time, thus starting a Xiaolin Showdown.

Omi wins the showdown after his mother falls. But as soon as she hits the ground, she breaks apart, revealing that she's actually a robot when Raimundo tells Omi that "she's not your mom". Omi, Raimundo, Kimiko and Clay are mad at Jack then the latter reveals Wuya and Hannibal made him do it. During a flashback, Hannibal used the Moby Morpher to transform all of the Jack-Bots into Omi's relatives if Omi had any. Omi's sad to learn that he's still technically an orphan. Then, Master Fung appears and retrieves the Shen Gong Wu and runs off, but he did not get them all, for Wuya had gotten the other Shen Gong Wu. Raimundo and Omi tries to stop Wuya from escaping but she used the Shroud of Shadows to disappear as Omi is on top of Raimundo, and Jack also escaped, but noisily. Master Fung arrives and asks if the Shen Gong Wu are safe. Then, they figured out that the first Master Fung was actually Hannibal Roy Bean, using the Moby Morpher.

Later that night, Raimundo, Kimiko, Clay, Dojo and Master Fung cheer Omi up by giving him some presents for the Chinese New Year.

Did you know[]

Master Fung may be Omi's surrogate family and father figure, while Raimundo, Kimiko and Clay could be considered to be siblings of sorts due to their close familial bond.
Omi is the only monk that doesn't have a last name.
As of this episode, the only characters to have a last name are Jack, Dojo, Raimundo, Kimiko and her dad Toshiro, Clay and his sister Jesse and their dad and also Chase and Hannibal.
When Hannibal says "who are you calling a jellybean?" during this episode is a possible reference to when Jack said "Who are you calling doofus, kitty litter?" and Katnappé said "Who are you calling kitty litter, robo-freak?", both during the episode Katnappe!.
Kimiko has the same hairstyle and outfit from Like a Rock! .
Raimundo's expression during this episode after he found Omi's "parents" is similar to Raimundo's expression when he and Omi are about to reach the Serpent's Tail near the end of In the Flesh.
When Omi falls on the floor during this episode is a possible reference to when Raimundo lies on the grass during the episodes The Return of Master Monk Guan and In the Flesh.

Bamboo Hopping[]

Omi and his mother touch the pile of Shen Gong Wu at the same time, starting a Xiaolin Showdown. Omi wagers his Lasso Boa-Boa against his mother's Orb of Tornami, which she took from his pockets. The game is bamboo hopping, and the first one to fall loses.

When the showdown starts, bamboo poles nearby rise from the ground into the air, and Omi and his mother both stand on top of one. Omi's mother begins to attack him with her bamboo stick, but Omi is hesitant to fight against his mother. He continues to dodge her attacks but refuses to fight back. Omi's mother tries to finish the showdown by knocking him down with the Orb of Tornami, but Omi's instincts kick in, and he sends the water flying back towards his mother, sending her falling to the ground and her head flying off, revealing that she is a robot. This wins the showdown for Omi.

Goofs[]

Omi's clothes seem to alternate between his overalls and his Xiaolin robes, this can be seen after he defeats his "mother" in a Xiaolin Showdown.
