Mr and Mrs. Crud are a pair of robots designed by Jack Spicer and disguised by Hannibal Roy Bean with the Moby Morpher to impersonate Omi's parents.
Background[]
Depressed about being an orphan, Omi went on a quest to find his family, which eventually led him to Omi Town. Here, he met the Cruds, a pair of old, poor farmers who claimed to be Omi's parents, having accidentally sold him with their grapefruits. As they were his parents, and they needed his help, Omi decided to stay behind and help them.
Later, Chase Young told Omi about Hannibal Roy Bean, Wuya and Jack Spicer attacking the temple. Omi returned to the temple to stop them, but during the fight, Mrs. Crud showed up, revealing herself to be on the Heylin side, much to Omi's shock. The two ended up in a Xiaolin Showdown. During the showdown, Omi was unwilling to fight his mother, but managed to win anyway. At the end, Mrs. Crud fell to the ground and was smashed to pieces, revealing the Cruds to be robots, and exposing Hannibal's plan to use them to lure Omi away from the temple.[1]
Personality[]
The Cruds are portrayed as rather poor parents, being that they accidentally sold their son as a grapefruit. They seemed more interested in having him back to help out with their work rather than actually loving him, even making him help clip his father's toenails and give them sponge baths. Also, while he was staying with them, his bedroom was the chicken coop.
It is possible Jack Spicer made them this way because his parents are poor parents too, and often neglect him and abuse him, so he doesn't know how parents are supposed to be or more likely this was a way to torment and humiliate Omi for defeating his evil plots in the past
Physical appearances[]
The Cruds, like most of the residents of Omi Town, share Omi's trademark round yellow head. Though they both look much older.
Powers and Weaknesses[]
Mrs. Crud has formidable martial arts skills, able to fight in a Xiaolin showdown with Omi.
