Dyris was a beautiful mermaid who sought to put the world underwater. She, however, only remained beautiful when she was in the water. On dry land, she returned into her true monstrous form.
Appearance[]
Water Form[]
She had golden blonde hair, green eyes, a star barrette and a curvaceous figure in her mermaid form.[1]
True Land Form[]
On land, she was a gigantic gray, amphibian-like creature with a greenish-brownish belly. Her mass was exponentially larger than while in the water.[1]
Abilities[]
- Superhuman Strength: While she was in her Monster Form, she had superhuman strength, able to lift and throw Omi with ease.
- Underwater Breathing: As she was a mermaid she could breathe underwater.[1]
- Manipulating Skills: Dyris manipulated Omi, Raimundo and Clay through flirtation to further her goal. In order to do this, she would use the Black Beetle and Tunnel Armadillo to dig a hole to the center of the earth.[1]
History[]
Not much is known about Dyris' past, besides being hunted by an ancient warrior named Klofange and that she is the last merperson in existence who is seeking to make the entire Earth underwater to rule it, although the reason why is unknown. In her previous encounter with Klofange, she got cornered inside of an ice floe, which later collapsed and freeze both her and the warrior. Years later, she was discovered by the Xiaolin Monks after Omi won the showdown with Jack Spicer for the Gils of Hamachi, and was freed by Raimundo. After being defended by Klofange, who was also frozen in an iceberg, the monks offer her sanctuary at the Xiaolin Temple, but was unable to leave the water, so the monks decided to ride in Dojo Kanojo Cho's mouth alongside Omi, Raimundo, Kimiko and Clay filled with water. Later at the temple, Kimiko was unhappy with Dyris that she is manipulating the monks, but tells her "it's what girls do", so she trains Kimiko by using her charms on Omi.
After an attack at Xiaolin Temple, she returned to the ocean and stole the Tunnel Armadillo, the Fist of Tebigong, Golden Tiger Claws, and the Black Beetle, as well as tricking Dojo into revealing the location of the now-revealed Black Beetle. Just before Omi was about to grab the Black Beetle in a sunken ship, she manipulates Omi's gullibility, telling him not to believe about what Klofange said about her and steals the Gills of Hamachi from him and takes the Black Beetle, before heading to the Tunnel Armadillo. Omi uses the Serpent's Tail to go after her and retrieves the Gills of Hamachi she stole, and starts fighting with him. Omi kicks in the face, which causes Dyris to cry and manipulates Omi once again by making him apologize, only to slap him with her tail again and tell him that he fell for it. She and Omi ride on the Tunnel Armadillo and crash into inside of an iceberg. She grabs her hand on the Black Beetle, along with Omi, telling him it's hers. Omi challenges Dyris into a Xiaolin Showdown, as she wagers hes Fist of Tebigong against Omi's Gills of Hamachi, with the game being "Steal the Wu" on dry land.
She gets out of the water and transforms into her true form of a giant, hideous monster. When the showdown starts, Dyris starts off by flicking Omi against the wall with the Fist of Tebigong. Omi tries to slide forward, but Dyris smashes the Fist of Tebigong into the ground, sending him flying. The Gills of Hamachi go flying and land on his throat. He activates them, only to realize he can't breathe. Dyris picks up Omi, and is about to grab the Gills from his neck when Omi takes them off and sends a geyser of water at Dyris.
He keeps the water pointing at her, causing her to stay in her mermaid form, and takes the Fist of Tebigong from her, winning the showdown and kisses her on the nose. Dyris, unhappy about her loss, turns back into her true form attempts to attack again. Klofange attacks her by shooting three explosive mines at the wall, causing the iceberg to collapse and restraining her with a rope, before the iceberg crumbles and freezes the two in ice again.
